Sony is now globally rolling out the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update to the Xperia P smartphone, the same update has also been available for the Xperia Sola and will soon be available for Xperia Go and Xperia U.
This new update will introduce a brand new user interface and while it is currently available for select regions, the update will reach other markets in coming months. Some of the sleek new features include which come with the update are:

- Extended standby mode, increasing standby time by up to four times (depending on user-profile and data consumption)
- Lock screen with improved functionality
- Resizable widgets for improved personalization
- Improved control of your mobile data consumption
- Recent Apps button for a clear overview of your applications
Introduced in May 2012 in India, the Sony Xperia P sports a 4-inch display and is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor. The device initially launched with Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
